Design For The Kiddies

Kirsten Krason of 6th Street Design School is doing a 2 week blog series called Good Design With Kids in Mind. She has put a ton of work into it and has some great resources, tips, and advice on how to have a beautiful home AND children.

I know many people who sacrifice a beautiful home because they say it isn't possible to have the best of both worlds. Yes, I don't have kids yet, but I do know many people who do have kids and also have a put together home.

This doesn't mean it's always clean and tidy. It means that because you've put thought into the design of your home, it still looks great even when there's some mess and clutter. I've seen this phenomenon in action!

Greek Tacos

I found this recipe on Just Cook Already a few weeks ago and finally tried it for dinner tonight. It was a HUGE hit with Landon. He even said it's one of his top 5 favorite meals I've made so that should say a lot. So I thought I would share the recipe with ya'll... 2013

2013 has been one amazing year! Here are some of the highlights that made it so great... Client Progress

These lovely clients of mine just bought their first house after finishing medical school and we are having so much fun decorating it! We started with the living/dining room which is almost complete, and then we will be moving to the family room and office. I think many people believe interior design happens quickly and you have to spend a lot of money all at once. That is one way you can decorate your home, but with this client we took it slow and steady. This results in an equally beautiful home. We came up with an overall design and concept to begin with, but were very flexible with reconfiguring the design as we went and buying things over time, not all at once. We started with the key furniture pieces (sofa, chairs, console, dining table and chairs) and then a few months later added the side table, rug, light fixture, and mirrors.
