Client Progress

These lovely clients of mine just bought their first house after finishing medical school and we are having so much fun decorating it! We started with the living/dining room which is almost complete, and then we will be moving to the family room and office.  I think many people believe interior design happens quickly and you have to spend a lot of money all at once. That is one way you can decorate your home, but with this client we took it slow and steady. This results in an equally beautiful home. We came up with an overall design and concept to begin with, but were very flexible with reconfiguring the design as we went and buying things over time, not all at once.  We started with the key furniture pieces (sofa, chairs, console, dining table and chairs) and then a few months later added the side table, rug, light fixture, and mirrors.  Last week while I was in Utah we added the lamps and a few accessories and now we just need some window treatments a...

The Nursery

Well I may not be able to decorate Ames' real nursery for a while, but that doesn't mean I haven't been working on a design for it! I have purchased a few of these items already and can't wait for the day when I can actually put it all together.  I don't really want the room to necessarily have a "theme" but the little gallery wall I've started has a bit of a zoo animal theme. Other than that, I just want everything else in the room to be mostly just different patterns and textures. As far as color, the room will probably be mostly white and grey with pops of color.  Here's a few nursery's I'm using for inspiration... Quilt / handmade by me Crib / Pouf / Glider / Pillow / Lamp / Mobile / Crib Sheet / Cube Sculpture Rhino / Giraffe / Striped Rug / Cowhide / Elephant Print / Owl Print /  Sheets (using for curtains) Wild Thing Print - can't find the source anywhere!  Green Chair...

In-Home Consultations

I'm headed to Utah and will be doing in-home consultations from March 25-28th! The cost is $100 for 2 hours.  I am happy to help with picking paint colors, furniture arrangements, accessorizing, or just giving you tips or a direction on a space in your home. I'm yours for 2 hours to help with whatever you want! If you have a small project that you would like me to help you actually shop for, I can definitely do that as well. The cost will still be $100 for a consultation at your home and then $75/hr for the time I spend shopping for you.  Now for the best part of this deal... If you refer a friend to me and they set up a consultation as well, you will receive 50% off your own consultation! Email me at lexiesandberg@gmail.com to set up a time that works for you!  I'm only in town for 4 days so I am limited to 3 consultations per day and 2-3 clients that I can shop for. *payment due at the end of your consultation *time slots are on a fi...

Inspired

I've been itching to create an inspiration board from some of my favorite design pins. So here you have it! Anyone who knows me, know I LOVE orange. Lately I have also been loving deep, rich green and blue paint colors. The color shown here is Bavarian Forest by Benjamin Moore. I first spotted it on Little Green Notebook . Jenny paired it with a fun coral/orange headboard and I was inspired. It's an unexpected color combination, but I absolutely love it! So I created my own little living room to share with you. I'm loving the mix of patterns, textures, and colors. What are your thoughts?  You can find everything here on my Pinterest boards.

Living Room on Less

I've had this living room on my Pinterest board forever and every time I look at I fall more in love. The play of the chartreuse, magenta, and navy together is awesome. I also love the look of the layered rugs.  But since I'm pretty sure this sofa alone is more than $5000 dollars I decided to come up with a more reasonably priced setup with the same look and color play. I was actually pretty surprised at how close I came to finding almost identical matches for almost everything in the room. I even found a chartreuse sofa with piping!  The grand total for  1 sofa + 5 throw pillows 1 sitting chair + throw pillow 1 coffee table 2 lamps 2 rugs 1 side table/stool 2 gallons Benjamin Moore paint is $4044.97 That is an awesome deal when you consider that the sofa alone in this designer room would cost you more than that. I'm also a lover of pillows and the fun color and pattern they add, but you could always cut down on the number of throw pill...

E-Design Services

Now that I'm no longer working at J.Crew I have decided to get back into what I have always wanted to do.... interior design! I'm so excited to be doing it again. I won't be fully starting up my business until we get back to Utah in December/January, but in the meantime I will be taking on a few e-design clients.  Basically you send me pics and dimensions of your room as well as some inspiration and a description of your vision for the room. Then I will get to work and within a week send you back a floor plan layout, mood board, and source list of where you can purchase the items.  Because I'm not officially starting my business yet, I will not be getting into custom upholstery or actually purchasing the items for you, but I can still put together a great room and give you some direction.  I will charge a flat fee per room so just shoot me an email if you are interested and I will give you more details! lexiesandberg@gmail.com Below are 2 recent projects ...
