Bridal Show

So if you don't know by now, I work at The Canterbury Place in Bountiful as an assistant florist. Saturday, January 16th was their annual Bridal Show, and the theme for this year was "Vintage Chic." It took a ton of prep work, including making about 30 paper pinwheels (seen on the chair ties below). I think my fingers were numb for a few hours from folding them! As far as flowers go, we worked until midnight the night before the show finishing them, but they turned out amazing! I was in love! Each table had a different centerpiece and the round buffet in the center had a HUGE arrangment of peonies, dahlias, anenomies, garden roses, queen anne's lace, and blooming branches. Stacie, the head florist, said it was probably the most expensive arrangement she's ever done. Here's some pictures for you to feast your eyes on....

One of the mock bouquets I made. It's made of calla lilies, parrot tulips, hypericum berries, and scabiosa pods.

The AMAZING cake made by Layers.

Lemon centerpiece topped with a carnation pomander
The entire ceiling was swagged and in the center hung tissue poms

All the chairs had different ties, this one shows the pinwheels I spent FOREVER making

Who doesn't love peonies!?

Client Progress

These lovely clients of mine just bought their first house after finishing medical school and we are having so much fun decorating it! We started with the living/dining room which is almost complete, and then we will be moving to the family room and office.  I think many people believe interior design happens quickly and you have to spend a lot of money all at once. That is one way you can decorate your home, but with this client we took it slow and steady. This results in an equally beautiful home. We came up with an overall design and concept to begin with, but were very flexible with reconfiguring the design as we went and buying things over time, not all at once.  We started with the key furniture pieces (sofa, chairs, console, dining table and chairs) and then a few months later added the side table, rug, light fixture, and mirrors.  Last week while I was in Utah we added the lamps and a few accessories and now we just need some window treatments a...
