Fall 2014


Fall is without a doubt my favorite season.
 This year I've been trying to soak it in as much as possible, 
so we've hit up Silver Lake, Mueller Park Canyon, 
and Red Butte Gardens in the last couple weeks.
I wish this time of year could last as long 
as the bitter cold of winter seems to stick around.

 I also did a little foraging in my parents' yard 
and designed a fun fall arrangement for my mother-in-law's birthday.
 I love how it turned out!

    Those beautiful flowers were all in your parents' yard? Jealous. And it looks like you are having so much fun! I miss the mountains in Iowa, but we still have pretty trees changing colors!

Table & Chair Matchup

The dining room is one place people really do their home a disservice.  How? They have a matching dining set, a generic light fixture, and no rug under their table.  Raise your hand if that's you.  Don't worry, you're not alone.  Just by adjusting those 3 things (mix up your chairs, add a fun light fixture, add a rug) you can really revamp your dining room.  Just bought your dining set and can't afford new chairs?  Easy.  Keep your side chairs, but find some upholstered chairs to add as captain's chairs on each end of the table.  It will mix it up just enough! Plus you'll have 2 extra chairs when you have guests over.  Another option is painting your chairs a different color from your table and add some fun cushions or reupholstering the seats.                                             ...
