Dad's Day

Such a great husband and dad this guy is.
So glad I get to raise this little boy and our future kiddos with him.
He takes great care of us.
I couldn't ask for a better dad for Ames.
We love you Landon!

We hit the pool again this week and Ames is loving it. He loves to splash his hands in the water and loves hanging out on the grass in his diaper afterwards. He's done more hangin in his diaper this week than normal and managed to figure out how to undo it. Lovely. I love this picture of him with his feet crossed, sitting with his Fox, just undoing the tabs over and over.

I'm guessing I'm not the only one, but being a first time mom, I think I'm behind on the transitions in stages. Ames probably could have been sitting in a high chair, when we go out, long before now, but this week we finally tried it out. He did great, and like I said, probably could have been sitting in one a long time ago. Sometimes the in and out of buckling and unbuckling him into his carseat can be a pain so I'd rather just lug him around in it. I just need to face that my baby is growing up! Can't believe he'll be 7 months tomorrow!
He also loves to chew on tags. He will find the tag on anything and would rather play with/chew on that than any toy.
Although he's not crawling yet, he's become pretty mobile. He managed to scoot/roll/pull himself clear across the room yesterday when I left him on the floor to play. Putting clothes on or changing his diaper is a feat. All this kid wants to do is roll over. Such a busy body he is!

This week we also pulled out the Iowa State Fair t-shirt we bought for him last year. I was 5 months pregnant and eagerly anticipating his arrival. I loved the logo they used for the fair that year so we bought a little t-shirt as a souvenir for his first (in-utero) visit. Now, almost 6 months later, it finally fits him!

We are still trying out baby food about once a day, but this kid still isn't too interested. I think he might be one of those that just switch to soft whole foods and skip purees. At this point he'd rather just chew on and play with the pouches than eat what's inside. He does seem to like to chew on and gum pieces of whatever we're eating, so we'll just follow his lead and not force the baby food.

Ames usually wakes up about 5-6am to eat and then he'll go back to sleep until 8 or 9. This was my view this morning at 5:30 am. I guess there's perks to waking up with the sun :)

Greek Tacos

I found this recipe on  Just Cook Already  a few weeks ago and finally tried it for dinner tonight. It was a HUGE hit with Landon. He even said it's one of his top 5 favorite meals I've made so that should say a lot. So I thought I would share the recipe with ya'll... Greek Tacos {i adjusted this recipe to serve just 2 of us.} M arinade 2-4 large chicken breasts in this Greek Salad Dressing. Client Progress

These lovely clients of mine just bought their first house after finishing medical school and we are having so much fun decorating it! We started with the living/dining room which is almost complete, and then we will be moving to the family room and office.  I think many people believe interior design happens quickly and you have to spend a lot of money all at once. That is one way you can decorate your home, but with this client we took it slow and steady. This results in an equally beautiful home. We came up with an overall design and concept to begin with, but were very flexible with reconfiguring the design as we went and buying things over time, not all at once.  We started with the key furniture pieces (sofa, chairs, console, dining table and chairs) and then a few months later added the side table, rug, light fixture, and mirrors.  Last week while I was in Utah we added the lamps and a few accessories and now we just need some window treatments a...
