39 Weeks

I really need to stop reading/ watching birth stories
because I'm so emotional these days I start bawling every time I do.
It's just so amazing to watch and know that will be me soon.
It seems like every tv show I watch there is a baby born so that doesn't help either. :)

My first contractions of the pregnancy happened this week.
Just a couple of irregular ones, but it's nice to know I'm making progress
and my body is getting ready! At my appointment they also said I'm a good 2 now.
We will just continue to wait and try to be patient!

Here is my thankful list for this past week...

Day 3: I'm thankful for cameras and all the memories they capture.
I love going through photos and remembering the highlights of life.

Day 4: I'm thankful for thoughtful and caring people.
It's so easy to be busy with our own lives,
but I really appreciate people who
are good at stopping to think of and serve others.
It's something I hope to get better at.

Day 5: One year ago, on November 5, 2013
we found out our 1st baby no longer had a heartbeat.
It was one of the hardest times I've gone through thus far,
but I'm so thankful for trials and the experience they give me.
And now we have this "rainbow baby" after the storm.

Day 6: I'm thankful for Landon.
He is such a hard worker and great friend to me.
He has worked full time, gone to law school full time,
and started a branch of his business in Iowa, all in this last year.
This has allowed me to stay home and fulfill my
dream of starting my own design blog and business.
I love him more than anything
and can't imagine being married to anyone else.

Day 7: I'm thankful for the holiday season.
As much as I love summer,
I love the sights, sounds, smells, and feeling of this time of year.

Day 8: I'm thankful for good food.
Who doesn't love food. Our life basically revolves around it.
Fresh produce, yummy salads, dinner from your favorite restaurant. Yum.

Day 9: I'm thankful for art and creativity.
It makes my life richer and fuller and
I'm thankful to be blessed with talents in these areas.

Greek Tacos

I found this recipe on  Just Cook Already  a few weeks ago and finally tried it for dinner tonight. It was a HUGE hit with Landon. He even said it's one of his top 5 favorite meals I've made so that should say a lot. So I thought I would share the recipe with ya'll... Greek Tacos {i adjusted this recipe to serve just 2 of us.} M arinade 2-4 large chicken breasts in this Greek Salad Dressing. (marinade recipe originally from Our Best Bites ) 1/4 c. freshly squeezed lemon juice 1/4 c. white vinegar 2 tsp. sugar 1/2 tsp. kosher salt 1/2 tsp. seasoning salt 1/2 tsp. red pepper flakes (this will not make the dressing spicy, just flavorful) 1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper 4 cloves garlic, smashed and peeled 1 c. canola oil (or other salad oil) 1/2 c. crumbled feta cheese 3/4 tsp. Quitting my job to stay at home, start up this blog/design business, and eventually be a mom Becoming pregnant and giving birth to baby Ames  Finding a love for riding bikes and discovering trails across Iowa Landon graduating from law school Running my first 5k Making unforgettable friends and memories while living in Iowa  Trips home to Utah and eventually our move back Vacations to Mexico, Lake Powell, Nauvoo, St. Louis, and Minneapolis  Landon's first deer hunt - which he will never be able to top! :)  Adding several temples to my temple journal list Everything we've been through and experienced this year has helped us to grow and change for the better. Client Progress

These lovely clients of mine just bought their first house after finishing medical school and we are having so much fun decorating it! We started with the living/dining room which is almost complete, and then we will be moving to the family room and office.  I think many people believe interior design happens quickly and you have to spend a lot of money all at once. That is one way you can decorate your home, but with this client we took it slow and steady. This results in an equally beautiful home. We came up with an overall design and concept to begin with, but were very flexible with reconfiguring the design as we went and buying things over time, not all at once.  We started with the key furniture pieces (sofa, chairs, console, dining table and chairs) and then a few months later added the side table, rug, light fixture, and mirrors.  Last week while I was in Utah we added the lamps and a few accessories and now we just need some window treatments a...
