28 Weeks

Well we may be seeing this little boy before November 16th! Ames is about 2 weeks ahead of schedule, weighing in at a little over 3 lbs, the size of a large cabbage. My doctor was actually pretty certain that my glucose level would come back abnormal ( meaning I would have gestational diabetes) because of his size and the amount of fluid around him. But what do you know, they came back normal! We just a have a big boy in there! It was a huge relief that my levels were normal. I really didn't want to have to deal with all the baggage of gestational diabetes.
They also checked out his heart again and everything looks great!
We are headed out to Utah in less than a week and I get more excited by the day!

On Thursday, the talented Kandice Stewart took my maternity pictures. We found the perfect location, and even with the million mosquitoes eating us alive, it was so worth it! I can't wait to see all of them and I'm so excited to have her take newborn pictures once Ames arrives!
Here's a sneak peek...

Kandice is amazing! Go check out more of her work here.

Before I end this little post, I just have to say that health insurance is SO frustrating!! We applied last year after I got pregnant and were approved, but after I miscarried, we had to basically apply again, but whoever put our reevaluation through didn't note that I was pregnant so I wasn't approved. Well we didn't realize this until my appointment yesterday and now it's been over 30 days since my coverage ended so I have to reapply for a third time! Holy moly I want to rip my hair out!

Now that I've got that out of my system, here's a peek at our cute little Ames. He had his back to us almost the whole time, so this is the only peek we got at his face. Loving those cheeks!

Greek Tacos

I found this recipe on  Just Cook Already  a few weeks ago and finally tried it for dinner tonight. It was a HUGE hit with Landon. He even said it's one of his top 5 favorite meals I've made so that should say a lot. So I thought I would share the recipe with ya'll... Greek Tacos {i adjusted this recipe to serve just 2 of us.} M arinade 2-4 large chicken breasts in this Greek Salad Dressing. (marinade recipe originally from Our Best Bites ) 1/4 c. freshly squeezed lemon juice 1/4 c. white vinegar 2 tsp. sugar 1/2 tsp. kosher salt 1/2 tsp. seasoning salt 1/2 tsp. red pepper flakes (this will not make the dressing spicy, just flavorful) 1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper 4 cloves garlic, smashed and peeled 1 c. canola oil (or other salad oil) 1/2 c. crumbled feta cheese 3/4 tsp. Italian seasoning 1/4 tsp. dry oregano In a blender, combine all the ingredients through the ga...

Client Progress

These lovely clients of mine just bought their first house after finishing medical school and we are having so much fun decorating it! We started with the living/dining room which is almost complete, and then we will be moving to the family room and office.  I think many people believe interior design happens quickly and you have to spend a lot of money all at once. That is one way you can decorate your home, but with this client we took it slow and steady. This results in an equally beautiful home. We came up with an overall design and concept to begin with, but were very flexible with reconfiguring the design as we went and buying things over time, not all at once.  We started with the key furniture pieces (sofa, chairs, console, dining table and chairs) and then a few months later added the side table, rug, light fixture, and mirrors.  Last week while I was in Utah we added the lamps and a few accessories and now we just need some window treatments a...
