Ladies Night



Last night was Ladies Night over at my house!

 Basically ladies night just consists of eating good food and chatting for several hours, but man do I love it! I've met some really cute ladies here in Iowa :) I also had lots of fun doing a little setup for the party. You'll see the heart garlands I told you about in my last post. 


Everyone got to take home a little takeout box filled with their choice of candy, along with a valentine with a chocolate inside. 

I made the valentines while I was home for Christmas. The little hedgehogs are embossed using this stamp from Paper Source. Actually everything I used to make them can be purchased there, but I'm warning you, it's a dangerous place! :) The take out boxes and sticker tags are from Michael's. 






The next morning I woke up bright and early to go get my Bountiful Basket. This is my second week doing it and I love it! It makes us eat more fruits and veggies, many of which I have been putting through our juicer. It's also a great deal for all the produce you get. Yummy stuff. 
By the way, anyone have any good recipes for leeks? I'll have to "pin search" that one.

2013

2013 has been one amazing year!  Here are some of the highlights that made it so great... Quitting my job to stay at home, start up this blog/design business, and eventually be a mom Becoming pregnant and giving birth to baby Ames  Finding a love for riding bikes and discovering trails across Iowa Landon graduating from law school Running my first 5k Making unforgettable friends and memories while living in Iowa  Trips home to Utah and eventually our move back Vacations to Mexico, Lake Powell, Nauvoo, St. Louis, and Minneapolis  Landon's first deer hunt - which he will never be able to top! :)  Adding several temples to my temple journal list Everything we've been through and experienced this year has helped us to grow and change for the better. Client Progress

These lovely clients of mine just bought their first house after finishing medical school and we are having so much fun decorating it! We started with the living/dining room which is almost complete, and then we will be moving to the family room and office.  I think many people believe interior design happens quickly and you have to spend a lot of money all at once. That is one way you can decorate your home, but with this client we took it slow and steady. This results in an equally beautiful home. We came up with an overall design and concept to begin with, but were very flexible with reconfiguring the design as we went and buying things over time, not all at once.  We started with the key furniture pieces (sofa, chairs, console, dining table and chairs) and then a few months later added the side table, rug, light fixture, and mirrors.  Last week while I was in Utah we added the lamps and a few accessories and now we just need some window treatments a...
