A Day of Thanks

Today has been a great Thanksgiving. Landon's parents came out to visit and we had a big feast with a few of our friends who are also students. We missed all of you at home in Utah though! To finish up the day I need to complete my list of thanks...

Nov. 17

I'm thankful for the blessing of travel. Preferably by plane :) Whether it's taking a trip home to Utah or traveling to a new place, I have been very lucky to be able to do both pretty often. I've been to able to see some amazing places around the world.

I'm thankful for the beauty of the earth. I've always loved having fresh flowers and live plants in my house. Being surrounded with them makes me happy :) I love an amazing sunset, the smell of fall in the air, the beautiful Utah mountains, and being able to go camping and just be in the middle of it all.

I'm thankful for delicious and abundant food :) This is something I definitely take for granted. Reading what my friend Alyssa eats on her mission in the Philippines has made me very grateful for what I have to eat everyday. She is a trooper :) And also thinking of all those who are without any food makes me even more thankful.

I'm thankful for family. In-laws, cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, etc. I'm so thankful for them all and for their love and support. Family is what life is all about, and I've been blessed with an awesome family.

I'm thankful for prayer. I have always had a strong testimony of its power. It brings me great comfort to know that there is always someone there to talk to. I'm a very introverted person, if you didn't already know ;) so sometimes it is hard for me to get things of my chest and talk about it with others. Holding things in is never good for me, nor for anyone else, so having this outlet is crucial. What a wonderful feeling to know that our Heavenly Father cares about anything we care about.

I'm thankful for the journey of life. Although it's not always easy to find joy in this journey, I love it. With all of its ups and downs and everything in between, I love my life. Thanks for the part you play in it :)
