One Crazy Week, 2 Beautiful Weddings

Cake (the most beautiful phaelonopsis orchids!)

The week before we moved was CRAZY! Between packing and cleaning out everything, finishing projects, and trying to get together with friends and family, I was also doing 2 weddings by myself! I had committed to doing them while my boss was in Hawaii before I found out we were going to be moving that same weekend. (This is why I didn't leave until Saturday) But they both turned out AMAZING and I'm so glad I did it.
The first wedding on Thursday was very traditional and all roses, but the roses I used were beyond beautiful and made the whole thing so great. They were huge orange ones that opened up to the size of your palm. You would have thought they were home grown garden roses. I also mixed them with a little different rose that had a darker orange tip. I always recommend mixing more than one shade of rose to add dimension. I'm so sad I didn't get a picture of it! My mind was going so crazy making sure I had everything done that I didn't even think about it. Darn.
But I did get a few pictures of the wedding I did on Friday and I am so glad because it was even better! The bride wanted a sort of modern asain vibe so we used lots of horsetail, orchids, and dark callas. I really had to stop myself from just taking her bouquet home with me. The two arrangements for the outdoor ceremony were just as amazing.
Although everything turned out great and there weren't any major tragedies, I was more than glad when the week was over!

Client Progress

These lovely clients of mine just bought their first house after finishing medical school and we are having so much fun decorating it! We started with the living/dining room which is almost complete, and then we will be moving to the family room and office.  I think many people believe interior design happens quickly and you have to spend a lot of money all at once. That is one way you can decorate your home, but with this client we took it slow and steady. This results in an equally beautiful home. We came up with an overall design and concept to begin with, but were very flexible with reconfiguring the design as we went and buying things over time, not all at once.  We started with the key furniture pieces (sofa, chairs, console, dining table and chairs) and then a few months later added the side table, rug, light fixture, and mirrors.  Last week while I was in Utah we added the lamps and a few accessories and now we just need some window treatments a...
