Last week we ventured out to the main attraction in Iowa right now...The State Fair. It's huge compared to Utah's fair so we actually ended up going twice. Here is what our night out consisted of...quilts, artwork, sand and butter sculptures, livestock, fried pickles and oreos, and the best lemonade ever. The big novelty this year was fried butter but we didn't take the dive into that one. Landon also played the fast pitch game and won a blowup football (that Thor has since demolished) for guessing the speed of his 3rd throw. Oh and I forgot to mention the people watching...the Iowa State Fair is THE BEST place to people watch. Better than any mall or airport. As for this week, Landon starts school so wish him luck! And I on the other hand am loving my job and it's keeping me busy. Stay tuned for pics of our place!

Table & Chair Matchup

The dining room is one place people really do their home a disservice.  How? They have a matching dining set, a generic light fixture, and no rug under their table.  Raise your hand if that's you.  Don't worry, you're not alone.  Just by adjusting those 3 things (mix up your chairs, add a fun light fixture, add a rug) you can really revamp your dining room.  Just bought your dining set and can't afford new chairs?  Easy.  Keep your side chairs, but find some upholstered chairs to add as captain's chairs on each end of the table.  It will mix it up just enough! Plus you'll have 2 extra chairs when you have guests over.  Another option is painting your chairs a different color from your table and add some fun cushions or reupholstering the seats.                                             ...
