Des Moines


It's official! We've decided on Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa! We'll be heading out there in August and I have to say I'm a little skeptical of Iowa, but we feel like that's where we're supposed to be so I am sure we will have lots of great experiences and make some lifelong friends. Moving away from the only place I've ever known freaks me out a little bit, but at the same time I am so excited for this new adventure! Can't wait to visit Chicago and Nauvoo too!

    Oh goodness! That's so far away but if it's where you're supposed to be then you can't argue with that! Congratulations Lex and Landon! Many wonderful things await you I'm sure! Good thing you already have a blog so we can keep up with you!

Table & Chair Matchup

The dining room is one place people really do their home a disservice.  How? They have a matching dining set, a generic light fixture, and no rug under their table.  Raise your hand if that's you.  Don't worry, you're not alone.  Just by adjusting those 3 things (mix up your chairs, add a fun light fixture, add a rug) you can really revamp your dining room.  Just bought your dining set and can't afford new chairs?  Easy.  Keep your side chairs, but find some upholstered chairs to add as captain's chairs on each end of the table.  It will mix it up just enough! Plus you'll have 2 extra chairs when you have guests over.  Another option is painting your chairs a different color from your table and add some fun cushions or reupholstering the seats.                                             ...
