“TV is chewing gum for the eyes.” -Frank Lloyd Wright

Landon's Christmas bonus was a 42" HDTV that arrived last week. Well since it would never fit in the armoire our old TV is in, it ended up in our bedroom on top of the dresser. I swore to myself that I would NEVER have a TV in my bedroom. And now I know why. It's SO tempting to sit in bed and watch an episode of Prison Break or a movie, especially because along with the TV came Apple TV and Netflix. I hardly ever watched TV until last week when it showed up on our doorstep. Now I might have to agree with Ray Bradbury, "The television, that insidious beast, that Medusa which freezes a billion people to stone every night, staring fixedly, that Siren which called and sang and promised so much and gave, after all, so little." Ok so maybe thats a little over the top, but there is some truth in his words. But man do I love me a good chick flick with the click of a button ;). So on with the point of this post...
Now that we have a new TV that I've sworn won't be staying in our bedroom and is too big for our armoire, I've been searching for the perfect affordable media console for our living room. Here were my choices, yesterday I finally made up my mind and ordered the last one from Home Decorators Collection. What do you think!? Did I make the right choice? I love that it is white and has doors to cover up all of the "stuff" that goes along with a TV. The other two only have one or the other.

Client Progress

These lovely clients of mine just bought their first house after finishing medical school and we are having so much fun decorating it! We started with the living/dining room which is almost complete, and then we will be moving to the family room and office.  I think many people believe interior design happens quickly and you have to spend a lot of money all at once. That is one way you can decorate your home, but with this client we took it slow and steady. This results in an equally beautiful home. We came up with an overall design and concept to begin with, but were very flexible with reconfiguring the design as we went and buying things over time, not all at once.  We started with the key furniture pieces (sofa, chairs, console, dining table and chairs) and then a few months later added the side table, rug, light fixture, and mirrors.  Last week while I was in Utah we added the lamps and a few accessories and now we just need some window treatments a...
