Christmastime...

Space Savers Cont.

This and the one below are amazing videos about some new space saving technology. It's so crazy what people can create!

Complementary Colors

I have been so excited to share these pictures. I did these two small weddings in November and loved how both of them turned out. The yellow and gray wedding is the same one that I blogged about the centerpieces here . If you saw my post about succulents the other day then you know why I am in love with this bouquet. The purple bouquet was completely different but I am equally in love. It was so different than your typical bouquet but I LOVED how it turned out. It was edgy and so fun. It had some fun flowers in it too: pin cushion flowers, coxcomb, awesome purple vanda orchids, purple cabbages, anemones, some callas, lacy dusty miller, and peacock feathers. The shape was fun too. The bride wanted a little bit of a cascade so I did sort of a modern assymetrical version since cascading bouquets are actually coming back. Like I said, LOVE. I was SO mad I didn't get my own pictures of this one. I knew the pictures of the yellow bouquet would be AWESOME because my same wedding photogr...

Freedom

IT'S FINALLY OVER! Fall semester that is. SO relieved and happy. Don't get me wrong, I love learning about design, but these past couple of weeks have been CRAZY! This was my post today on facebook..."after 5 final projects, countless burns from the glue gun, way too many rubber cement fumes, a nasty cold, a few meltdowns, & a partridge in a pear tree, I am done with the semester. Now some time for my brain to recover!" And my brain really does need to recover. These are a couple of the mindless things I have done that really wouldn't have been a big deal if I would have had a brain: 1) Pulling out a new garbage bag for the large kitchen garbage and finally realizing after a minute that it won't fit because its meant for the bathroom garbage that is half the size. 2) While frantically finishing my AutoCAD final, screaming at the computer because the dimensions I'm drawing aren't showing up and realizing a meltdown later that it was because I...

Succulent Love

So if you don't already know, I am in LOVE with succulents. So when I saw these awesome little trees made of them I about died! They are from this awesome blog. Too bad they range from $100-$150 dollars each and you have to live in California to buy one because they are too fragile to be shipped out of state. But she does have some other amazing things in her shop that can be shipped. Here are some of my favorites... P.S. Go check out everything in her holiday shop. There are some awesome ornaments and such. This crazy thing is called an air plant. You soak it in water every so often and it stays alive with no root system and without being potted. SO awesome!

God's Hand

The other day one of my teachers sent all the design students a link to this video. He thought we could use an encouraging thought while we were going insane with final projects. I didn't have a chance to even watch it until today because I have been so busy. I can't even believe I am taking these few minutes to write this blog post with all I have to do. But as I watched this video and asked myself if I had seen God's hand in my life I was so overwhelmed with gratitude. I really don't know how I would have made it through the past few days without some divine intervention. At times I've felt like I was drowning but somehow I made it and if I can make it through one more week I will be home free. I absolutely love what I am learning and doing at school but I definitely have those breakdown days and without the knowledge of a loving Heavenly Father I don't know how other people make it through hard times. So I want to thank my Heavenly Father for his hand in my...
