Turkey Dinner + Harry Pottery + Family + Nap + Awesome Husband = Awesome Birthday

(I don't particularly love the above picture of myself, but I don't have many recent pictures of Landon and I so I will post it anyway.) So as seen from the title of this post, I had an awesome birthday. Everyone asks if I like having my birthday on Thanksgiving (every 5 years except when leap year factors in) and I have to say that it's pretty great. It seems like my birthday lasts the whole week because I'm celebrating with different people almost every other day other than my actually birthday. It started off on Tuesday when Landon ended up giving me all of my presents because he was too excited to wait. :) Then Wednesday my parents gave me their gifts because we had Thanksgiving with the Sandbergs. Thursday of course was Thanksgiving. Landon made me breakfast, we ate Thanksgiving dinner at Little America, took a nap, saw Harry Potter (loved it), and then spent the night at the hotel. Today I went shopping with Becky and Mand...

A Touch of Spring Amidst All That White Outside

Last week I did another small wedding for a good friend in my parent's ward and when I stopped in to pick up the flowers I saw these little babies... I couldn't resist. I HAD to take some home with me and I'm sure glad I did. Everytime I look at them sitting on my dresser it makes me happy. Beautiful flowers just do that for me. Sounds a little cheesy, I know. But with all that white stuff outside I need a reminder that spring will still come, even if it seems like forever! I was even more excited to see these because I don't think I've ever seen peonies this time of year and especially in this lovely color. What is your reminder of sunny warm days when there's a blizzard outside?

Social Media Revolution

We watched this YouTube video in my Portfolio class and thought I would share. Pretty interesting. Just a warning...some of the words come and go pretty fast so read quick!

Some more of the happy color...

These are the cute centerpieces I did for a wedding yesterday. They were all in different white vintage looking teapots that the bride bought at TJMaxx. Gotta love that store. I thought they turned out pretty dang cute. I'm so sad I didn't take any pictures of the bouquet before I dropped it off! It turned out awesome! It was a "Dr. Seuss" bouquet, as the groom called it :). It had lots of fun textures and flowers in it, including succulents, billy balls, berzelia, ranunculus, finesse roses (ruffly textured like a garden rose), scabiosa pods, 2 varieties of dusty miller, and some button mums. I will have to see if I can snag some pictures of it when they get them back.

God Sends A Sunset...

While visiting teaching last week, one of the women we visit said something like, "When I'm having a hard time, I'm so grateful for a beautiful sunset. It reminds me that God loves me." I loved that, and I replayed it over in my head the other night when I saw this amazing sunset.

Fancies & Wishes

It's not a good thing that right next door to the LDS Business College is the Gateway Mall...It's also not a good thing when I decide to go browse (look at the many things I want but have to tell myself I can't buy) after class. That is what I did tonight. Bad Girl! JCrew and Anthropologie are dangerous places. But I will say I was able to restrain myself and went home with not a thing. But I will share with you some of my Anthro wishes at the moment... What can I say... I'm bound to love anything this color. Really wanting to put these lovelies on my towel bar I have some of these cute latte bowls in an assortment of colors, but these yellow and ...

Mindy Gledhill

I am SO in love with this song! If only I could download it on iTunes! Hopefully someday. I first saw the video on NieNie . Her cute husband is the one singing with Mindy.

Halloween Happenings

Yes I am alive...surprisingly. After these past couple of months it really is a surprise. I have been crazy busy with school but I am proud to present the final product... This project was for Studio II. The whole class consists of 2 commercial projects that we design individually. The first was a retail space that we were given the floorplan for and then we could design any kind of retail space we wanted. I chose a fine paper store and I named it Caldwell Paperie. It was a TON of work. We had to do a spec binder, construction documents, and these final presentation boards. It took up the whole first half of the semester. But I was really happen with how it turned out. We had this past week off ( which was MUCH needed) and we start on our 2nd and final project this week. This one will be fun because it is an actual project. Our designs won't necessarily be chosen to use but it's still nice to work on a "real" space. We could chose between 2 apartment clubhouses. ...
