What's Been Up

We're back to the grind with school but we've still found time to do a few fun things lately...
The picture above is from Boondock's. We went for date night last weekend and raced all the 12 year old on the go-carts and played some miniature golf. I do have to say that go-carts just aren't as fun when you're not 12 and its the closest thing you can get to driving a car :). But we still had lots of fun together and I have an obsession with photobooths so of course we had to document with a picture.

Landon decided he better get his hunter's safety now that he has married into a family of hunters, and because even I have my hunter's safety ;). On Sept 11, of all days, he took his shooting test and of course he passed with flying colors. We went the day before and did some practice rounds and I decided to give it a try. I'd say I did pretty good...

I also begged Landon to go to the State Fair so we went last Saturday with my fam. Yummy fried pickles and navajo tacos!
P.S. I have been searching for an internship for school for a while and applied for one with the Church Temple Interior Design and got it! So excited! I start Monday and can't wait! I'll be doing a lot of updating Temple books at first which will probably get old but I think it will be a great experience and a chance to get my foot in the door. Wish me luck! And wish Landon luck, he is studying hard for the LSAT on October 9th!

Greek Tacos

I found this recipe on  Just Cook Already  a few weeks ago and finally tried it for dinner tonight. It was a HUGE hit with Landon. He even said it's one of his top 5 favorite meals I've made so that should say a lot. So I thought I would share the recipe with ya'll... Greek Tacos {i adjusted this recipe to serve just 2 of us.} M arinade 2-4 large chicken breasts in this Greek Salad Dressing. (marinade recipe originally from Our Best Bites ) 1/4 c. freshly squeezed lemon juice 1/4 c. white vinegar 2 tsp. sugar 1/2 tsp. kosher salt 1/2 tsp. seasoning salt 1/2 tsp. red pepper flakes (this will not make the dressing spicy, just flavorful) 1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper 4 cloves garlic, smashed and peeled 1 c. canola oil (or other salad oil) 1/2 c. crumbled feta cheese 3/4 tsp. Italian seasoning 1/4 tsp. dry oregano In a blender, combine all the ingredients through the ga...

Quitting my job to stay at home, start up this blog/design business, and eventually be a mom Becoming pregnant and giving birth to baby Ames  Finding a love for riding bikes and discovering trails across Iowa Landon graduating from law school Running my first 5k Making unforgettable friends and memories while living in Iowa  Trips home to Utah and eventually our move back Vacations to Mexico, Lake Powell, Nauvoo, St. Louis, and Minneapolis  Landon's first deer hunt - which he will never be able to top! :)  Adding several temples to my temple journal list Everything we've been through and experienced this year has helped us to grow and change for the better. Client Progress

These lovely clients of mine just bought their first house after finishing medical school and we are having so much fun decorating it! We started with the living/dining room which is almost complete, and then we will be moving to the family room and office.  I think many people believe interior design happens quickly and you have to spend a lot of money all at once. That is one way you can decorate your home, but with this client we took it slow and steady. This results in an equally beautiful home. We came up with an overall design and concept to begin with, but were very flexible with reconfiguring the design as we went and buying things over time, not all at once.  We started with the key furniture pieces (sofa, chairs, console, dining table and chairs) and then a few months later added the side table, rug, light fixture, and mirrors.  Last week while I was in Utah we added the lamps and a few accessories and now we just need some window treatments a...
