Landon and I were set up by his mom, who was my Young Women leader. He was adamant that he would never date anyone in his ward, yet here we are engaged! Our first date was April 24, 2008. We went to dinner and a Jazz game and were scared to death of each other the entire time! Landon was even more nervous than I being that his brother had given him tickets that weren't next to each other. So he was worried the entire time that someone might come kick him out of his seat any second! ha ha. We dated the whole summer and spent almost every waking hour together, except for his trip to Europe and mine to Lake Powell, during which we could hardly stand it! Landon proposed on December 27th on a snow mobile ride up Bountiful peak. Him and his brother in law, Sam, had gone up earlier that morning and spray painted "Will You Marry Me?" in the snow on the side of the mountain. Needless to say, I said yes! Here we are today, anxious as ever for May 9th to come!
These lovely clients of mine just bought their first house after finishing medical school and we are having so much fun decorating it! We started with the living/dining room which is almost complete, and then we will be moving to the family room and office. I think many people believe interior design happens quickly and you have to spend a lot of money all at once. That is one way you can decorate your home, but with this client we took it slow and steady. This results in an equally beautiful home. We came up with an overall design and concept to begin with, but were very flexible with reconfiguring the design as we went and buying things over time, not all at once. We started with the key furniture pieces (sofa, chairs, console, dining table and chairs) and then a few months later added the side table, rug, light fixture, and mirrors.
