8 Months

Before I know it, this boy will be a year old! It's 8 months already today!  I love seeing him learn and grow  and despite the sleep relapse we've had the past month, 5-8 months has been such a fun time.  Lots of smiles and personality.  Here's what's up at 8 months for Ames... - 4 teeth, which he loves to grind together - Has the army crawl down - Finally enjoying baby food and taste testing mom and dad's meals - Loves stuffed animals - Loves swinging in just about anything - Still wearing 12 month clothes - Just moved up to size 4 diapers this week - Loves getting in Thor's dog dish  - Hates getting dressed because he's a busy body  and doesn't like mom or dad holding him down so he can't roll over   - Still loves bath time and swimming at the pool

Leaky Diapers

Look at that face. I could kiss it all day. The Bubbs got his first baseball hat this week.  Of course with Landon as his father we are teaching him young to be a BYU fan.  To my surprise, he actually keeps it on his head.  Our challenge this week is trying to find a solution to this kid wetting through his diapers every night.  We've tried the 12 hour diapers and he still wets through those. The past two nights we've been doubling up with a cloth diaper over the top of his disposable. Tomorrow I think I'll try buying a size up in the 12 hour ones and see how that goes. Any of you had this problem and found a good solution? I'm all ears. It's resulting in this kid waking up in the middle of the night soaking wet every night.  SO MUCH FUN.  But like I've said before, seeing that cute face the next morning seems to wipe the slate clean. :)  We've also been doing lots of swinging on the porch swing in the backyard. I love i...

On The Move

Ames is officially on the move!  (my video won't upload, but you can see it on Instagram) He's got the inchworm/army crawl down and he's working on  the hands and knees. He'll get up up on them and rock back and forth and move his legs a little but he hasn't figured out how to coordinate his arms at the same time yet. He'll just collapse and do what we call the head plow.  He's also got two more teeth popping through! This time on the top. One has already come down and we can feel the other one getting ready to. This has resulted in some very "fun" sleeping habits.  By about 2-3 months he was sleeping through the night (10-12 hours) and now that the fun stage of teething has begun, he's started waking once a night. I'm grateful it's only once, but it's still frustrating none-the-less since we've gotten used to sleeping again at night. I can't help but instantly forgive him in the morning though when he wak...
