First Timer

Ames had his first experience swimming this week. He was definitely a fan.  We had a family pool party/BBQ for Memorial Day and he was a little ornery from not having a good nap that day, but as soon as we got in the water his face lit up and he was completely calm and content for the entire half hour we were in the pool. It's so fun watching him discover new things that he loves. This week it was swimming and balloons.

Attorney at Law

On Monday Landon was officially sworn in by the Utah State Bar as a lawyer.  So, he is officially an attorney at law! You've heard it before, but I'm so proud of all he has accomplished! As you can tell, Ames was really excited about it as well... Mr. Ames has been busy learning to sit up for more than 2 seconds.  He's got it down pretty good now and can sit for several minutes all on his own.   I gave him  a spoon while we were out to lunch which  he absolutely loved. He fell asleep with it in hand on the way home. AND... he's got one little tooth popping through on the bottom! 6 month stats at his check up were : 18.25 lbs (63%) 29 inch. long (99%) head -17.1 inch. (41%)

Another Week, Another Month

Another week has come and gone, and this boy is another month old! That makes 6 months!  This kid loves to roll on his tummy but seems to have forgotten how to roll back so he gets frustrated and cries out for mom's help. We think he's starting the early teething stages because there's a lot of chewing and drooling going on these days. He's also finally getting the hang of the whole food thing finally. Of all things his favorite thing so far is prunes! At about 19 lbs he's a big boy wearing 12 month clothes. He's also started to be a lot more interested in Thor and loves to watch and "pet" him.    I seriously couldn't love this kid more and just wish he could stay little forever.  Landon and I are busy at work these days. Wedding season is officially here and I've been flying solo for the month of May while my boss is on maternity leave, so it has been busy but most definitely fun! I never thought I would really work once I h...

A First

Today is my first mother's day since having our little boy.  I couldn't be happier or feel more blessed to have him here. He has taught me so much about selfless service, love, and patience. I could never have imagined loving this little boy so much before he got here.  We did have some bumps along the road getting him here, but it was nothing compared to some who struggle with infertility and the loss of children. I hope on this mother's day that they feel the Savior's love. I think this day should be called Women's Day because those who go through the hard struggle of trying to be a mother, but can't, or have it taken away, deserve the honor of this day just as much as those of us who are currently mothers.  I am beyond grateful for my own mother.  She is my greatest example of faith, service, motherly love, and so much more. She has taught me how to be a mother and selflessly stayed with us in Iowa for an extra week when I was having a r...

Excited About Dirt

(the dirt we are so excited about. Well I guess it is grass covered dirt) It's been an exciting week around here! Ames finally has a real crib to sleep in, we celebrated our 5 year anniversary, and we signed on a lot to build our house!  Yes, our baby is almost 6 months old and finally has a crib. Since we knew we would be moving shortly after he was born, we held off buying one and just borrowed a bassinet and have had him in a pack and play since moving to Utah. Ames also went to his first baseball game and is loving his jumper these days.  I can't believe we have been married 5 years! We packed up ourselves and the breast pump :) and headed to Midway for our first night away from Ames. We stayed at the Homestead and swam in the crater mineral pool there. It was great to get away but of course just as exciting to get back and see our little guy. I'm so lucky to have Landon. He works hard everyday for our family and has made all of my b...
