Open House

A couple of months ago I started working/interning with a local designer, Caitlin Creer . I have loved every minute of it! It's been a great experience and I'm sad that I can't stay and keep working with her. The Saturday that we move there will be an open house for an amazing project she has been working on. Believe me you definitely want to see this. It's beautiful! I have been able to help out on this project here and there and am so jealous! I wish this was my house! If you have time and can go to the open house I would highly recommend it! Check out the headboards in the little girls' room...I picked out the fabric for them! :)

Past Present & Future Adventures

We're back from Lake Powell! We both came back with a good tan and lots of fun memories. Lots of fishing, reading, painting, hiking, soaking up the sun, surfing, wakeboarding, skiing, tubing, craft projects, sleeping under the stars, and lots of yummy food. I can't believe it's all over! The part I am most nervous about is finding a job out there, a job I can handle going to every day. I have been working/interning for Caitlin Creer, a local inter...

DIY Headboards

I had a request for some ideas for DIY headboards and some fun ways to decorate. So here I am with some ideas... Salvage some old pieces of wood and attach to vertical brace pieces. I think you could leave it as is and it would look awesome, but if you wish, stencil or handpaint something fun on it. You could skip the wood altogether and just create a fun stencil of a headboard and paint it directly on the wall. Doesn't quite have the dimension of a real headboard but a fun idea! One of my favorites is these old doors. You might have to do a lot of searching to find some but I love the look of it. Make your own wood frames or buy some at the art supply store (used for stretching canvas) and cover with batting and fabric for a softer upholstered look. Now for some fun decorating ideas... Plate collections/collages are a big trend right now. I've been collecting mine at the DI and TJMaxx. But I think...
