Bridal Show

Saturday was the annual Bridal Show at The Canterbury Place, and although we are no longer their in-house florist, we decided to try our luck with our own booth for La Belle Fleur. We had a great turn out thanks to our wholesaler, Esprit Salt Lake. They provided flowers for us to make mini bouquets for all the brides-to-be to take home with them. Our theme was modern with an Asian twist and we had some fun and textural mock bouquets, boutonneiers, and a table setting. Check out more pictures and details on La Belle Fleur's blog !

Happiness

Be happy. I hope that you have a reason to be happy today. If you don't, then I hope this video will atleast put a smile on your face. Sometimes you just need a little laugh and some sillyness. Remember that happiness is a choice!

San Fran...& a blizzard

Over the break Landon and I drove out to Cali to visit one of Landon's good friends from the mission and his wife. We were lucky we actually made it there because we got caught in a crazy blizzard going over Donner's Pass and had to buy chains for $70 from a guy on the side of the road. It was a tender mercy that we actually had money to pay for them and didn't have to turn around. Landon had had cash the day before but for some reason deposited it all before we left and I had $2. Luckily, that day I went to get my passport renewed for our trip to Jamaica and put Landon's checkbook in my purse to pay for it. We normally just leave it at home and only pay bills, tithing, or fast offerings with it. We NEVER carry it with us. But I just happened to have it. And luckily the kind man actually took a check from us. I guess he figured we looked like good honest people :). Let's just say that we probably won't be driving there next tim...

Studio II Final

I have been wanting to post these pictures forever and now that I've waited so long that the new semester is starting, I think its about time. These are the final boards for my Studio II Final Project. As with the other project I posted a while ago, we also had to do a Spec Binder and Contruction Documents that went along with this project. So to give you an idea of how much time it takes to put these projects together, we only did two projects the entire semester (September-December). But it is definitely very rewarding when you are finished and see all the work you have put into them. Here is the link to my other project if you didn't get a chance to see it already. The pictures of the boards below are definitely not the best but it will give you an idea. If you want to come see them in person and view my entire portfolio when I graduate in April then put April 8th on your calendar! This is the date of the Interior Design Portfolio Event at LDS Business College. If y...

An Exciting Year Ahead...

We have quite the year ahead of us. 2011 will consist of: Landon graduating from Weber w/ a Bachelor's in Economics Me graduating from LDSBC w/ an Associate's in Interior Design Trip to Jamaica New primary class Law School Moving out of state and many more unexpected adventures! The new year also started out with a new bedroom for us... My awesome mother in law gave us this new duvet for Christmas, my talented mom made me the adorable ruffle pillow (it may look familiar if you've seen the cute pillows from Plush Studio ), and Landon gave me the sunburst mirror for my birthday, (Can you believe I found it at Michael's!?) and I found the tufted headboard online for a steal.
